The Kids Will All Write Challenge: My Son is Living Like a Rock Star

Yesterday Marissa of Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth  posted The Kids Will All Write  challenge. She asked bloggers to submit examples of their children’s artwork and creativity. This video is my submission. My 16 year old son is in a band called Nothing Personal. The video is from Thursday night. The song is a pop-punk cover/mash-up of Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball and Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble. His band has original songs, but I thought this was particularly well done. My son is the one singing. I’m very proud of him. (I apologize for the video quality. I did it with my cell phone. With all the movement and lights my phone couldn’t focus. The audio is pretty good though) You can also find their original song Relationship on iTunes.

Thanks for the idea Marissa, and I love the inspiration for the title of your challenge as well. Have a great Sunday everyone! ~Phil

  1. They’re very good!

  2. Mate, this is wicked. They should record it in a studio and chuck it on YouTube? Definitely a proud dad moment.

Well I guess anyone who has not heard about my The Kids Will All Write challenge by now must be living under a rock. But for you subterranean dwellers, it’s all about encouraging our children’s creativity by publishing their writing, artwork, and even music videos!

Blogger Phil Taylor and I have a lot in common. We’re both originally from New York, we’re both unbelievably hilarious, and we both have sons who play music. Here is an awesome mash up by Phil’s sons band Nothing Personal. Please enjoy!
