Here I sit, covered in my own blood. I just killed myself. Hopefully I won’t have to come back and try again. Who the hell knows? Your guess is as good as mine.
I’m physically and emotionally exhausted, but I think it’s finished. Or at least I’m as sure as I can be right now. I’m writing my story down. I doubt it will exonerate me, but I’m hoping that someone will believe me and understand the truth. Who am I kidding? The truth is just the lie we’ve chosen to believe, and yours may be different than mine.
That’s the intro to the novel I’m working on now. That’s got blockbuster written all over it doesn’t it? What do you think? That picture above won’t be the cover. If you follow my Facebook page, which you can click on up in the right sidebar, I sometimes offer readers a chance to name a character and win a free copy or have other ways of having some input into the book.
Have a great Monday!
Phil
Looking good so far. Intro is great as it pulls the reader in – I definitely want to find out the answers to the questions posed in those initial paragraphs…
Thanks Dzeni! It’s nice to see you here!
Oh wow! I want to read more. That sounds really good. The tone is sad, but I want to keep reading.
This is great! Makes me want to read more. The tone is sad, but I am intrigued.
Thanks! It’s probably about 5 months from being available on Amazon and B&N.
Cool! What is your usual word count for your books?
I shoot for about 60,000 to end with a roughly 300 page paperback. Hey, I was just reading your blog. I couldn’t find anywhere to comment on your posts. Are comments not activated for your site?
They are, I have seen people comment. Let me check that out.
Maybe I just wasn’t looking hard enough or it’s something with the mobile app.
Did you find it, it’s at the bottom.
On the bottom right it says comments, you have to click on it to comment.
Sounds intriguing!
You get a free copy if you want one. Probably about 4-5 months before it’s out.
Absolutely would love a free copy!
I want to know more!
It may be a few more months before it’s available. I’ll throw out a teaser like today’s now and then.
Sounds interesting, but is the story going to be narrated by a dead man? This concept is hard to swallow unless it’s done carefully. I always think of Sunset Boulevard. This story is one of my favourites but I wish they fixed the weirdness of the narrator… but I’m sure you’ve worked it out where the protagonist has killed himself with a slow acting substance? Something that gives him time to write? Regardless, I’m definitely curious 😆
Nice try! I’m not giving away any spoilers. I’ll throw out a teaser now and then until it comes out later this year.
Foiled!!! 😆
Thanks for reading my post and commenting!
on my to read list ツ
Thanks!
I was just checking my site on google and saw this, Thank you for the credit on the clock image and also causing me to find your article on your book!
Sorry to borrow your picture but thanks for not minding me doing so. It’s a great eye catching image. Did you create it?
Yes I did, and no need to be sorry you credited it! lol any of the blood splatter and stuff on the shop I created myself and the cemetery photography.
Nice! Do you ever do freelance stuff, like for instance if someone wanted you to design the cover for a book?
Never have really but willing to do anything! Let me know whats in your head over my e-mail i gave you on twitter and i’ll shoot you some samples
