I saw this occur live, in person last year at the Alternative Press Music Awards and I still can’t get it out of my head. It was the weirdest musical performance I’ve ever seen. Rob Halford of Judas Priest performed with #Babymetal , a trio of young Japanese women singing with heavy metal backing music. The real performance starts about one minute into the performance. Former heavy metal icon Rob Halford joins the trio at the 7:40 mark.

Little metal with my tea this morning.
I’m a little nauseous, but can’t tell if it’s from the music or from the stomach bug I’m getting over.

It’s strangely hypnotic, isn’t it?
Favorite moment: about 10:25 one of the women is crossing the stage and you can see her, no mic, singing/lip-syncing along with Rob.
It’s definitely one of the strangest things I’ve seen live on stage. I’m impressed you watched the entire thing. I would guess you’re probably the only one today
If you want to know, she isn’t lip-syncing or something like that. She is singing along with the music just like a fan in the audience might do. She is having a blast performing with the Metal God himself ! 🙂
