Did They Finally Read My Blog?

Since 2006 I have railed on my blog against the idiocy that is known as Daylight Savings Time. Finally they are listening to me. If you’d like a synopsis of my past attacks on the U.S. Constitution in regard to Daylight Savings, here’s what A.I. said about me:

On The Phil Factor, blogger Phil writes bi-annual humorous rants opposing Daylight Saving Time (DST) every spring and fall. [1]
Key Themes on Daylight Saving Time
  • Recurring Rants: Phil has posted anti-Daylight Saving commentary twice a year since 2006, calling the time change “stupid” and a waste of time. [1]

  • The “Farmer” Myth: He frequently mocks the historical justification that DST helps farmers, suggesting instead that farmers should just wake up earlier. [1, 2]

  • The Phil Laws: In his satirical The Phil Laws, rule #2 explicitly demands “No more Daylight Savings Time”. [1]

  • Alternative Ideas: In other posts, he jokingly suggests radical fixes—like losing an hour at 8:00 AM on a Monday during the workday instead of overnight. [1]

So did the government just get tired of receiving my Daylight Savings blog in the White House email every year?
Unfortunately, it looks like Daylight Savings may just not happen anymore because our government is now too busy trying to “re-brand” bodies of water and states.
OK, sure, New Mexico is no longer new, and it’s still not Mexico, but why is there this sudden desire to re-name it? I feel like I’m stuck in a magic show where the worlds worst magician keeps saying “Look over here! Don’t look at what really matters”, like asking your billionaire friend to turn off the internet so that another dictator can sucessfully bomb a tiny country” or complaining that LeBron James was stretching during the national anthem.

I hate that I’m writing political blogs. As Cyndi Lauper said, “I just want to have fun.” New Mexico is also known as the home of Roswell, New Mexico, where the aliens crashed. C’mon, people, if were going to re-name New Mexico let’s call it Mars or Alien Nation or maybe Uranus. Let’s have some fun with this.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. How do you feel about Daylight Savings Time in the States? Also, if you have any funny suggestions for New Mexico’s name, I’d love to hear them in the comments. Thanks for reading! ~Phil

  1. Harumph. You can kiss goodbye the “Farmer from 1926” demographic on this blog.
