Wordless Wednesdays: The Golden Boys

Yes, I am one of those three and the other two are my two best friends in the world. This is one of my favorite old pictures of us. Those two are who two of the characters in my books are based on. Have a great Wednesday! ~Phil

Few Words Wednesday: The Crypt

I know this is supposed to be Wordless Wednesday, but let’s face it, I can never go fully wordless, so I’ll call it Few Words Wednesday and write less than I usually do. If you read my book, The Sneaker Tree, this is the entrance to the crypt they went into. I was driving, saw this and just had to find a way to work something this cool into a story. Also, if you read yesterdays post, My 10 Favorite One Hit Wonder Songs, there was only one person who answered the challenge of figuring out the commonality between song #10 and another on the list. I promised to declare whomever solved that puzzle a genius. The genius that figured out that song 10 and song 2 on my list both, in some way, included a Captain of the Starship Enterprise is Meg Sorick. Click on her name and visit her blog. She’s a great writer, artist and blogger. Have a great Wednesday! ~Phil

Wordless Wednesday! Revenge

On a E. 7th St. in the Ybor district of Tampa there is a sidewalk filled with engraved paving stones. Some are memorials to a lost loved one with birth and death dates, some are inspirational messages, one is a wedding proposal, and then there’s this. I don’t don’t know who Brian is, but he made someone really mad.

Wordless Wednesday! The Demon Chiropractor of Fleet Street

I saw this office yesterday and had to take the picture. Ok, maybe I should have titled this Slightly Wordy Wednesday. Think about that picture. Two adults with the last name Sweeney intentionally named their son Todd. I salute their sense of humor. Imagine how often, when teachers were taking attendance or he’s waiting at the DMV and someone reading the name listed alphabetically had to announce aloud, “Sweeney, Todd.”  Sadly young Todd didn’t have enough of a sense of humor to grow up to be a barber or perhaps a surgeon. If you don’t get the joke, read this. It was also a 2007 movie starring Johnny Depp.
