Back in the day when I was cranking out five posts a week, one of them was Music Monday. I have eclectic tastes in music and modern alternative rock is one of my favorite genres. I figured the title of this song was perfect to fit in with my paranormal binge over the past month.
I first heard this Lizzy McAlpine song about a month ago and was immediately hooked. I’ve always enjoyed a song that tells a story full of quirky details. This song, All My Ghosts is almost perfect. I hope you enjoy it and it gets your toes tapping to start your Monday.
The video below is from the NBC show Better Late Than Never and features Girls Generation, the most popular pop act in South Korea with the guys from Better Late Than Never: Terry Bradshaw, former NFL quarterback and sports broadcaster, actor Henry Winkler, famous as Fonzie from Happy Days, 87 year old William Shatner from Star Trek and Boston Legal, George Foreman, former heavyweight boxing champ, and comedian Jeff Dye.
If you get NBC, Better Late Than Never is a fun show with the four oldsters and den mom Jeff Dye going on adventures all over the world. If you’re in North Korea, you can’t hear Girls Generation (여왕의 귀환!소녀시대, 정규) because the government has banned their music. Once in 2015 at the demilitarized zone South Korea blasted their music into North Korea. In the rest of the world you should be fine. Below is 72 year old Henry Winkler showing that he’s still got some moves as he dances to Uptown Funk with Girls Generation:
This six man band from Los Angeles is one of my favorite new bands of the last several years. Their third CD was released last June and I did feature one of their songs, but now they went and did a cover of one of the greatest pop songs of all time, the Cure’s Just Like Heaven.
The guys in The 1975 all met in high school in Manchester, England. If you haven’t heard of them, then must have been in hiding the last few years. I like all of their music, but it’s this interesting cover of One Direction‘s What Makes You Beautiful.
I love this song. It’s got a very different, fun, frenetic sound. The Wrecks three song debut EP dropped last April and once radio stations heard it, this song started getting airplay. The Wrecks have only been a band for a little over a year, but based on that little three song debut they’ve already opened on a major tour with Nothing But Thieves. Enjoy the song and have a great Monday! ~Phil
